Lab services refer to the collection and testing of blood and urine samples to diagnose diseases, assess organ function, and evaluate health. Lab testing provides objective information about your health that helps medical providers make informed care decisions.
Peaks Medical and Urgent Care provides primary and urgent care services to the local community and visitors. The clinic offers lab services to assess your health quickly and provide immediate care.
Peaks Medical and Urgent Care offers basic lab services. Types of testing may include:
BMP is a blood test that measures your blood’s glucose, calcium, and electrolyte levels, as well as blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatine. This test assesses hydration, electrolyte balance, and kidney function.
Urinalysis is a basic lab test that measures your urine’s acidity, as well as levels of protein, sugar, and bilirubin. This test gives general information about health and organ function.
A urinalysis may also check for bacteria or yeast to diagnose a urinary tract infection (UTI).
CBC measures blood cell counts, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This provides a general overview of health and nutrition status and finds health problems like anemia and infections.
Peaks Medical and Urgent Care performs PCR COVID-19 and flu testing, as well as Strep, troponin, A1C, and RSV testing onsite.
Your provider at Peaks Medical and Urgent Care determines when you need lab services. They may recommend running lab work if they have concerns about hydration status or an infection.
You may also need lab services if you’re coming in for primary care services, hormone replacement therapy, or intravenous (IV) hydration. Peaks Medical and Urgent Care sees patients of all ages — children, teens, and adults.
The medical practice also does Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exams.
